Welcome to the St. John Paul II Cluster Catholic family. We have two parish sites: St. John the Evangelist in Independence, Iowa and St. Patrick’s in Winthrop, Iowa. We cordially invite you to celebrate your Catholic faith with us and share in our spiritual journey. On behalf of the St. John Paul II Cluster Catholic Community and Parish Staff, I would like to personally welcome you to our parish website. I hope that your “visit” will give you a sense of the opportunities for worship and prayer that are offered in our cluster, as well as the various programs for growth in our Catholic faith and the many opportunities for “hands on” ministry.
We believe that our parishes are much more than simply a place to worship once a week. It is also a center for learning, teaching, sharing faith experiences, and for giving and receiving the strength that we all need for our life-long journey with God. We are those servants mentioned by Jesus (Matthew 25:14-30). Each of us have been richly gifted, but these gifts must be invested wisely and generously to help others, according to the principles of good Christian discipleship.

VBS Information
VBS Registration is OPEN!
Immanuel, St. John’s, and St. Patrick’s will be going on a wildly wonderful rainforest adventure through the mist at Rainforest Falls VBS!! Join us July 12-16 from 5:30-8:15 pm! Students 4yo (potty trained & completed PK4)-6th grade are invited to sign up! Cost is $10 and covers the t-shirt, 5 meals, crafts, and a week full of Bible learning and fun! VBS Volunteers Needed!
Adults & students aged 7th grade & up are invited, & encouraged, to help with VBS. We need many, many leaders & helpers for VBS to run smoothly – people to lead kids, teach crafts, act out the lessons, serve food, & so much more. Summer ScripThe Scrip box will be available in the school office throughout the summer. Office hours are Monday-Thursday from 8am-2pm and Friday from 8am-noon or by appointment. Please stop in during office hours if you would like to purchase or pick up Scrip.
